That is what some Reddit users claim happened to Travis Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs.
Indeed, New Orleans, home to some of the most well-traveled and experienced voodoo experts, southern ghost stories, and haunted jaunts, is no stranger to spooky superstition. It didn’t take long for fans and citizens of the bayou to point out the wrath that one foolish tight end placed on himself and his team by disrespecting New Orleans’s famous cuisine.
Two users, black_magicwoman and honestypen, each had a Reddit thread in the r/NewOrleans page that pointed out the mind-boggling loss wasn’t a matter of game plans or X and O’s but good old-fashioned karma. Travis Kelce was outspoken before the game and took umbrage with some classic New Orleans dishes, including gumbo itself. Users were quick to comment in both threads and put him to the torch for the culinary disrespect.
“Totally. I get not liking gumbo. It’s def heavy on seafood flavoring and that not for everyone.“
