The season of contests has officially begun. After many months without them, the Guardian Games have returned to Destiny 2 in their 2025 edition. While many Guardians might already be familiar with the event’s gimmicks, many other new things are coming this time. There’s a new Rushdown Mode, new armor sets to get, a lot of weapons, and, the most important thing: the opportunity to fight for the glory of your class. So, whether you’re joining in for the first time or are a veteran at this competition, here’s a guide of everything included in this 3-week event.
Guardian Games 2025 Dates
Before we dive into the what’s and how’s, let’s talk about the when. The Guardian Games 2025 of Destiny 2 will run for three weeks, which is from March 11, 2025, to April 1, 2025. The start and end times are the same, which is at 9 AM PT, so make sure to mark your calendars and place as many alarms as possible to not miss anything during the event.
How to Start the Guardian Games Event
To participate in the Guardian Games of 2025, you must head to the Tower Courtyard and speak with Eva Levante. Finding Eva will be quite easy, as there will be a lot of decorations for the event around her. Once you do, you can get started with the Best in Show quest. Once you complete it, you’ll be able to start earning your medallions for this competition.
Rushdown Mode, Explained
The new mode debuting in Destiny 2 is Rushdown, which is the big thing to do during the Guardian Games. Instead of the usual Nightfall, players will instead fight hordes of enemies and some familiar bosses in quick succession. There will be five encounters during a run, and players will be judged depending on their total boss kills and score. Also, Guardians can pick between any of the following difficulties:
- Warm-Up
- Standard
- Expert
The higher the difficulty, the better the rewards, but there will also be a few modifiers that will affect your run. Also, you’ll obtain better loot if you complete a run fast, so you better keep that in mind. As long as you complete three encounters in any mode, you’ll get a weapon drop. However, the better your score in Standard and Expert mode, the higher your chances of obtaining perks for your Guardian Games weapon.
New & Returning Weapons
Naturally, many will want new weapons to add to their collection, and the Guardian Games of 2025 bring many for all Destiny 2 players. Here is the complete list:
- Keraunios (New): Arc Trace Rifle
- Hullabaloo: Arc Grenade Launcher
- Taraxippos: Strand Scout Rifle
- The Title: Void Submachine Gun
Guardian Games 2025 Armor Sets
Last but not least, the Guardian Games of 2025 bring some slick armor sets to Destiny 2, which are inspired by Greek Gods and Goddesses. You can obtain a set by purchasing it from the store with Silver or Bright Dust.
- Titan: Ares Armor.
- Warlock: Athena Armor.
- Hunter: Apollo Armor.
If you have some currency to spare, we recommend buying the sets because they are some of the best we’ve seen during the Guardian Games.
