In step 41 of The Bladed Path, Destiny 2‘s Seasonal quest, you must complete the Hive elemental attunement in the Extraction Lost Sector. While we have done this in the past few weeks for quest steps already, the task is still challenging. You must be quick, strong, and complete the attunement in a certain amount of time. However, the location of the Hive elemental runes are entirely new to us, and it wouldn’t hurt to have a quick guide through the process. I know I was a bit confused the first time around. Let’s take a look at how to complete the Extraction elemental attunement in Destiny 2.
The Extraction Lost Sector in Destiny 2 is quite easy to find, though, there is a trick to it. Travel to the Quagmire fast travel location in Savathun’s Throne World and hop on your Sparrow. From there, head to the location shown on the map above. When you arrive, you’ll see a large rock with the Lost Sector image shown on the front of it, near a Deepsight area. Using Deepsight, reveal the path to the Lost Sector over the edge of the cliff behind the rock. There will be a path leading down and to the right where the entrance to the Extraction Lost Sector sits.
How To Perform Extraction Attunement
When you first get the quest step that requires you to head into Extraction, it will tell you to seek out the Hive elemental runes hidden in the Lost Sectors of Savathun’s Throne World and harness the arcane power within. If you remember anything from the last few weeks of The Bladed Path, the main focus is going to be your elemental attunement for this week. That said, if you chose the Arc element, the attunement will require you to use a gun that deals Arc damage. The same goes for the other two elements available.
Head inside Extraction and complete the Lost Sector. This process is the longest portion of the Extraction Attunement in Destiny 2, but it will save you a whole bunch of effort later on. When we begin the Attunement, it’s ideal if there are no enemies nearby.
Once you’ve completed the Lost Sector, take a look at the main room. You should notice various Hive elemental Runes scattered around on the walls. There are 5 runes altogether.
The first Hive elemental rune can be seen as soon as you enter the main area shown in the image above in the Destiny 2 Extraction Lost Sector.
The second rune can be found in the same area on the opposite side of the center platform.
The third rune is on the wall near the doorway in the back left-hand corner of the room.
The fourth rune in on the opposite wall from the fourth rune, to the right.
The fifth and final rune is near the top of the center platform. You must shoot all 5 of the runes as quickly as you can with a weapon that matches your elemental attunement. This process will spawn in a Lightbearer Wizard, whose Ghost you must crush before escaping.
Once you’ve finished, Invoke Hive Magic near the Lost Sector Chest to complete the Extraction Attunement in Destiny 2.
