You better get ready for more dungeon-crawling in Diablo 4, because the Kurast Undercity is a multi-stage dungeon that will test the limits of your build. To a certain extent, it’s also one of the viable endgame activities in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred since the rewards are rather luxurious. They can easily jumpstart your endgame build. To get there and reap this new bounty, here’s a guide for the Kurast Undercity dungeon.

The Kurast Undercity is thankfully part of the main expansion questline. You’ll eventually get there if you have the Vessel of Hatred expansion, specifically as soon as you get into the city of Kurast.

Kurast is the main hub of Nahantu and was also featured as a main hub in Diablo 2. Now it’s back with new dangers and wonders alike. The Kurast Undercity is thus only accessible in Kurast (similar to how The Pit is only accessible through Cerrigar).

You will need to complete the related feature-unlock side-quest for the Kurast Undercity, however. It’s somewhat lengthy and should be enough to familiarize you.

Endgame Kurast Undercity Runs

Once you’ve finished the aforementioned side quest, you can then modify your Kurast Undercity runs with a Tribute and a Bargain. All you have to do is click on the Spirit Brazier or entrance to the Kurast Undercity and place these Tributes and Bargains.

  • Tributes give reward buffs to the Kurast Undercity run. These will cost you a Tribute (a specific Kurast Undercity currency)
  • Bargains let you target specific rewards but will cost you crafting materials.

Kurast Undercity is effectively a way to dump all your excess crafting materials into the dungeon to get more rewards.

Speed is the name of the game in Kurast Undercity. You need to have a fast clearer build here, otherwise, you will lose out on the reward and practically the Tribute and the crafting materials you spent to buff the dungeon run.

Kurast Undercity is split into three floors. On each floor, there are several Beacons (blue) that you’ll all want to activate and clear so that your reward tier for the Kurast Undercity run will max out or be as high as possible (Tier 4).

You get 60+ seconds for each floor and you can further increase that time by slaying the afflicted enemies (orange marker). So were I you, I would focus on all the Beacons and leave the monsters because I often find that the time-afflicted monsters or Greater Afflicted monsters tend to be tanky and aren’t worth the time reward.

Moreover, movement speed is a life-saver for this dungeon and you’ll want to reserve your mobility skills for dashing to the portals once you’ve run out of Beacons to activate on each floor.

Once you get to the boss, you don’t need to worry about time pressure anymore in the Kurast Undercity in Diablo 4.
