After hearing players’ feedback from the first beta test, Monster Hunter Wilds Director Yuya Tokuda has announced that the game’s performance has improved for the full version. This information came from a YouTube live stream, where the developer talked about various improvements fans can expect in the full release. Besides enhancing the performance, players may even receive another beta test before the launch. However, the developer warned that the second beta test was only for those who didn’t get access and that fans shouldn’t expect new content.

After releasing an opening speech, the live stream directly addressed the performance issue players encountered during the beta test. They also included a recording of a gameplay on PlayStation 5 using Performance mode. It should also be noted that this wasn’t the final version of the game, but it was an improved build. The recording showed a fight with a Quematrice, and the gameplay seemed much smoother than the beta version.

Capcom may even release a PC Benchmark tool for Monster Hunter Wilds, so fans can find out whether or not their PC can handle running this beast of a game. For console players, the developer has shared target framerates and resolutions. As usual, the Performance setting should give you 60fps, while the Quality setting will provide you with a higher resolution but limit your framerate to 30.

Besides improving Monster Hunter Wilds‘ performance, Capcom has fixed the hit stop and weapon sound effects. In the final version, attacking monsters should feel more satisfying since the weapons will feel more weighty and impactful. The developer has also adjusted friendly fire and the frequency of monster area movement. Tokuda admitted that there was a bug in the OBT version that made monsters move too frequently between areas.

The live stream covered some adjustments to various weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds, such as Insect Glaive, Lance, Switch Axe, and Sword and Shield. Capcom said that there would be new multiplayer features in the final version. For example, there will be a private lobby so you can play with your close friends. You can also expect the return of the squad system and lobby in the game.
