An ARPG with MMO-like elements makes Diablo 4 a game that you will want cross progression in. It makes everyone’s life easier when you want to hop between different platforms, especially for a game that is always online, filled with content, and has five classes. Between PC, PS4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Steam Deck, for you tech-savvy people knowing how to make that work, you will not want anything to get separated. Whether you are playing alone or with other people or creating one character or multiple, we will break down this mechanic so you know how to prepare yourself when going from one platform to another.

Diablo 4 Cross Progression Explained

Thankfully, Blizzard thought hard enough about the small, technical details to have cross progression in Diablo 4. Games like this and Destiny 2 blur the MMO lines, but the online infrastructure can make our lives easier or harder. In this case, it is easier. By having everything saved to the Battle.net servers, things transfer over from your characters to your progression in the story. All you need to do is have your Battle.net connected to each platform. While you can connect it to Apple, Facebook, Google, and Twitch, you can do the same for PC and console. You can connect it to your Switch, but as the latest installment of Diablo is not available there, you will want to focus on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, depending on the variety that you have. Go to Account Overview, then Connections, and then select the accounts you want to be connected to.

By the servers making our lives easier, it does more than cross progression in Diablo 4. Crossplay is also a piece of it, so you can play with your friends on different platforms. Blizzard leaves no gate closed, as you can play across platforms and on or off the couch. The servers will also ensure that the game is saved, as there is no manual save. So, you just have to play the game and not have to worry about the technical backend things that some games can forget.

Now you should be all set to play Diablo 4 the way that you want. Between its hundreds of dungeons and bosses, you will have plenty of content to go through on any platform with anyone and any of the five classes.

Diablo 4 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S, and PC.
