Lethal Company certainly lives up to its name, and you might even find yourself fully utilizing that hazard pay after jumping into a dark flooring that turned out to be a bottomless abyss. That begs the question, does Lethal Company have an ending? Is there a conclusion to this corporate fever dream in video game form?

Lethal Company does not have an ending—at least not traditionally. This latest entry in the ongoing trend of brutal multiplayer survival-horror games currently does not have a conventional video game ending where the credits roll after certain milestones or story progression.

Similar to survival games like The Long Dark, Lethal Company only ends if you get killed one way or another. Apart from that, there’s no end in sight to the scavenger gameplay loop. In fact, you can keep going indefinitely for as long as you or your teammates can.

Well, technically, there is an ending to this survival horror game; you just have to die in-game. Given the game’s difficulty, you’ve probably already seen that ‘ending’ way too many times, especially with random teammates online.

The Game Is Still in Early Access, However

It’s worth noting that the game is still in its early access phase, meaning there’s a big chance the developers will be adding more content and adjustments. For all we know, they might even present an actual ending or a story mode, depending on their resources. The developers apparently plan to finish the game in several months, depending on the community reception.

For now, you can just keep scavenging in Lethal Company to your heart’s content or until your character gets a heart attack and becomes a company write-off. If you want to put off that abrupt ending as much as possible, though, make sure to bring others along in a multiplayer session.
