The recent Dr. Disrespect situation seems to be nearing its end because today, the world-famous streamer admitted he spoke with a minor through a recent statement. For the unaware, the story dates back to 2020, when the streamer got banned from Twitch. Given the mystery behind the ban, many people speculated about it, but nothing else happened until now. A former Twitch employee came forward saying the ban happened due to the former Twitch personality “sexting” a minor. With the allegations up in the air and full of uncertainty, Dr. Disrespect confirmed that he texted a minor.
Through X (formerly known as Twitter), Herschel “Guy” Beahm confirmed he texted a minor in 2017. He even said the messages could be interpreted as “inappropriate” but nothing more. This has stirred a lot of commotion on social media because he confirmed what everyone feared. However, the case goes deeper than that, and we’ve compiled all the information on this situation.
When Did The Allegations Begin?
On June 21, former CPM at Twitch, Cody Conners, mentioned Dr. Disrespect’s ban happened due to sexting a minor. The former Twitch employee went as far as to say Dr. Disrespect wanted to meet the minor at TwitchCon. As you can imagine, this caused a lot of controversy, with many people coming out to defend the streamer and calling Cody someone with “zero evidence.” Now, with Dr. Disrepect’s recent statement, it seems that the former Twitch CPM wasn’t far from the truth.
Let Go From Midnight Society
After Dr. Disrespect’s first Shadow of the Erdtree stream and before his official statement, we all learned he was let go from Midnight Society, a studio he founded. While the official statement from the company was professional, saying they’d terminate their professional relationship with Beahm, Rober Bowling, the studio’s co-founder, said the following:
If you inappropiately message a minor. I can not work with you.

This was extremely shocking for many as Beahm had founded the company, and being terminated spelled something larger in the ongoing situation. However, that was everything we knew until today.

A few hours ago, the internet personality confirmed he texted a minor back in 2017, saying the following:
Were there twitch whisper messages with an individual minor back in 2017? The answer is yes. These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more.

Regardless of how you choose to interpret it, Dr. Disrespect has openly admitted he texted a minor, and certain conversations leaned “too much in the direction of being inappropriate.” Right now, there are two sides on the internet: some are sending love to the former Twitch streamer, while others are calling him out for what he did. During his last stream, he announced he’d take a break from the internet as he was feeling “burnout.” Now that the statement is out, what will happen with Dr. Disrespect is uncertain.
