For those of you who love Dragon Quest andย Minecraft, there’s good news – a free playable demo of Dragon Quest Builders 2 has been released on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
This sequel to 2016’s Dragon Quest Builders will continue to deliver the same block-building, survival-based gameplay that made its predecessor so great. It will feature brand new characters, an expansive new world, unlimited building combinations and, unlike Minecraft, has an actual storyline for players to follow.
The Dragon Quest Builders 2 demo will give you a glimpse of this in action. You can choose the gender of your builder and have the choice of playing two sample parts of the game. The first is the Tutorial area, the second being ‘the Isle of Awakening’. If you want a chance to check out a taste of the gameplay and story, then your chance is here!
Where the story is concerned in Dragon Quest Builders 2, you play an apprentice builder who has escaped the clutches of the so-called Children of Hargon, who have banned cooking, building, and creation of everything. You eventually wash ashore on the Isle of Awakening where you encounter a mysterious amnesiac called Malroth. From here on, you must work with Malroth to gather the skills needed to become a full-fledged builder all the while battling the evil Children of Hargon.
The exciting news surrounding this new demo follows the E3 announcement of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age. This exclusive Switch version of the critically-acclaimed JRPG bears a ton of special features including an orchestral score, feature Japanese voice acting as well as a 16-bit mode. It will release worldwide this year on September 27.
Meanwhile, expect to see Dragon Quest Builders 2 release on July 12th, 2019, worldwide on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch (although it already hit Japan last year).
