Over in the Merchant Quarter of Vernworth, youโll come across a beggar by the name of Albert telling wild tales. Another beggar watching, clearly jealous of Albertโs success, has a hard time believing Albertโs methods and wonders how he even makes any gold. Naturally, you take it upon yourself to play detective and find out, in turn, you get the quest โA Beggarโs Taleโ in Dragonโs Dogma 2. As it turns out, thereโs more to this โbeggarโ than meets the eye.
How to Complete A Beggarโs Tale Quest in Dragonโs Dogma 2
If you do keep your eye on Albert, youโll find that he isnโt who he says he is. His first stop is to see his wife, Celina, in The Slums. It seems theyโre both down on their luck, doing what they can to survive. Afterwards, he stops at the Common Quarter to change into fancy clothes. His final destination is in the Noble Quarter.

As it turns out, Albert is a nobleman! And heโs already married to another woman, Hilda. Well, itโs time to crash his party. Right after Albert changes his clothes in the Common Quarter, youโre going to do some B&E to steal his Beggarโs Garb.
With the Beggarโs Garb in your possession, you have one of three choices:
- Give the garb back to Albert
- Give the garb to Celina
- Give the garb to Hilda
If you want to come away from A Beggarโs Tale with the best reward in Dragonโs Dogma 2, give the Beggarโs Garb back to Albert. Just wait an entire day, then revisit his home in the Common Quarter. Heโll bribe you with 5000 gold to keep your lips sealed.

If you want Albert to turn over a new leaf, give the Beggarโs Garb to Hilda in the Noble Quarter. After a day has passed, revisit Hilda and sheโll give you three onyxes.
Compared to the other two options, Hilda offers the lowest reward (each onyx is worth 800 gold), but onyx can be used as a gift to improve relationships.

If you choose to give Celina the Beggarโs Garb, sheโll kill Albert, then herself. Right after you hand over the clothes, wait a day, then visit Albertโs house in the Common Quarter. There will be guards stationed outside the house and will break the news to you. You get 3000 gold and a single Noonbloom.
In other words, no matter what path you choose during A Beggarโs Quest in Dragonโs Dogma 2, someone always loses. At least you get to walk away with some gold and experience!
