The world is still kind

An inebriated man from Chicago, Illinois, is lucky to be alive and well after a wild night out, thanks to the Samaritan efforts of three Black women. One of the helpful passersby documented the eventful night in a TikTok that has since gone viral.

While heading back home from a girls’ night out, they spotted the drunk man “wobbling back and forth” across the bridge over the highway and decided to intervene. Little did they know, the night would get wilder. After successfully getting him off the bridge, the kind women managed to unlock his phone and contact his friend.

“Hello, you don’t know me, but your friend is f**ked up, and I’m not trying to leave him out here. About to walk in the expressway f**ked up,” she told the friend over the phone. Unfortunately, the pal seemed too far away to offer any help, leaving the women stuck with the drunk stranger.

Amid the chaos, he kept trying to run away, making them chase him around the park before he had to throw up. Luckily, they finally got in touch with his mother over the phone. Speaking to the concerned matriarch, one of the women said:

“I’m a special ed teacher, and I just cannot leave him here.” Another friend then chimed in, “He’s in the best hands right now. We got a nurse right here and a special ed teacher and another teacher.”

Given how experienced the women were, the relieved mother felt at ease and gushed, “Omg, you saved his life.” However, her son, clearly still drunk, kept protesting, saying he was fine and could walk on his own. Obviously, that was a lie.

The three women eventually had to drive the drunk man home, while on the phone with his mother, to ensure his safety. “Ladies night out turned into baddie day care,” the hilarious clip, which garnered over 100K likes, was captioned.

Internet users swiftly reacted, praising the friend group for being compassionate towards a stranger. “Very proud of you, wonderful ladies. God bless you for doing the right thing,” one comment read. One user referenced the case of Nashville student Riley Strain, who died in March 2024 after drowning in a river after a night of drinking.

“Listen y’all are angels. Riley Strain was in the exact same, sloppy drunk, left alone in the streets of Nashville before he fell into the river and died. Y’all saved him. God works in mysterious ways.”

It is highly unlikely that the young man will remember the details of that memorable night. However, his mom will be forever grateful for the intervention of those sweet angels.
