This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Ever since we saw the initial announcement of Dungeons of Hinterberg, we’ve all been eager to learn more about the social mechanics and how they tie to the combat features; today, the Xbox Partner Preview gave us a glimpse of it. While many are excited to venture into the lands of Hinterberg, others want to know how becoming friends with others helps in their adventures. If the new information is to be believed, these social features will play a huge part when this game launches.

Dungeons of Hinterberg’s Social Mechanics Might Unlock Key Gameplay Aspects

During the trailer, we saw the game’s protagonist engaging in conversation with several characters. While at first, it looked like something just for flair, other parts showed nurturing these relationships has a bigger purpose. Some of the unlocks we got to see after becoming friends with certain characters were MP slots increase, Dodge Stamina increase, and even Photo Mode. This is fantastic and might remind people of recent games like Marvel’s Midnight Suns or Persona 5 Royal, released on Xbox not long ago.

Another great thing we noticed in the trailer was the amount of characters you might be able to befriend. Usually, a few games don’t provide enough relationships when there are social mechanics. Still, Dungeons of Hinterberg seems on the right track, as seen on the Xbox Partner Preview.

While we can’t wait to play this game, it still doesn’t have a set release date. So far, it’s aiming for 2024, but it is uncertain when it will arrive. At least we know through several other trailers that the game might come to Game Pass, meaning many players can travel to this colorful land to explore, fight, and make friends. In case you missed it, here’s the new trailer for the game, which shows these social features and many more.
