This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information.

Dying Light 2 has been confirmed to arrive at this year’s E3 presentation. We have seen some information previously about Dying Light 2 before but now we have the confirmation for some more at E3. Techland publishing, the company responsible for the development of the first Dying Light and its sequel, has said there will be no narrative connection between the two. Techland posted the below tweet to Twitter to let everyone in the community know of their arrival at E3 this year.

We're bringing Dying Light 2 to #E3. We can't wait to show you the latest look at our most ambitious project to date.
See you there!#DyingLight2 #E32019 pic.twitter.com/sSSgN7xCsw

The first Dying Light was set in the quarantine zone of the historic city of Harran. You play as Kyle Crane, an undercover operative to find the political figure that went rogue in the city. In the first Dying Light, players were allowed to run throughout the city parkour style. While running throughout the city you had to choose between helping the survivors or completing your mission of finding the political fugitive. With Techland saying previously there is no connection to the first story, the narrative for the sequel is still up in the air for now.

The sequel as we know it from previous information is set 15 years in the future from the first. Techland stated before the sequel has society pushed back to a Hobbesian state of living. The world as we know has been ruined due to the zombie outbreak and people are resorting back to cults for resources and power. We don’t know who you play as in the game but we have seen some information about Troy Baker possibly coming in to voice a character in the game.

Dying Light has no release date yet announced. The closest we had to date was back at E3 2018 where they had announced the game to come out sometime in 2019. For now, we just have something to look forward to at E3 this year. Tell us what you think they might bring for it at their panel down in the comments!
