Dean Hall, CEO, RocketWerkZ stepped onto the PC Gaming Show’s stage and was grilled regarding DayZ before allowed to talk about his latest project (ION). He was asked what his standpoint on early access were and he responded: “I have mixed feelings about early access, it’s good in some ways but has challenges for both consumers and developers.” He continued saying that “Valves refund program has helped with gaining trust in ย developers. The beauty with Early Access is that a game can become popular, which allows the scope is able to become bigger, but the roadmap could be lost, and it’s really important to keep the roadmap in mind so you know which direction the game is going to be going in.”

When talking about his latest project named “ION”, he described it as more of a simulator with a “Diablo style camera, and the original concept was based on Space Station 13. The aim of the game is to give people the opportunity to allow players to become pioneers.”

He was then asked about DayZ and that “Some people think that you abandoned the DayZ project, how with that stigma, how are you working on this next project?” to which he didn’t fully answer, but circled until running out of stage time. The game itself didn’t showcase all that much, but it sounds an interesting concept.

The game is coming first on PC and Xbox One Game Preview Program.
