This year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) was packed full of so many amazing upcoming and future games that it’s impossible to keep track of all of them. As a result, a lot of the announcements could have got lost in the shuffle and you may have missed some important announcements. Below is a list of smaller, but important news that also got announced at E3 2017.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga Remake + Bowser’s Minions Coming to 3DS

E3

As always with Nintendo Mario games stole the show at this year’s E3, as they showed off more gameplay – and a release date – for Mario Odyssey and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. One announcement you may have missed though was that the classic Gameboy Advance turn based strategy game Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga would be getting a modern remake and spin-off for the 3DS. Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga Remake will re-release the classic tale, while Bowser’s Minions will tell an alternate story that took place simultaneously and lets you play as all the classic Bowser henchman in the same turn-based fashion.

Ori And the Blind Forest Sequel Announced

E3

A diamond in the rough, Ori and the Blind Forest won the hearts of fans and critics alike when it was released back in 2016 and this year’s E3 announced a sequel. A short, yet emotion trailer was shown for the sequel amidst Microsoft’s E3 press conference, hidden among talk of the Xbox One X and Anthem. While it was little more than a teaser, the trailer revealed the sequel to the platform adventure game by Moon Studios would be titled Ori And The Will Of The Wisps. Be sure to keep an eye out for more information regarding the newest installment in the coming months, as no release date has been attached to the project.

Sony Blocks Cross Play

E3

Not only was Rocket League announced for the Switch, it was announced that the Online Multiplayer would feature Cross Play with Xbox One and Steam versions of the game. Noticeably absent from that announcement is the Playstation 4, which blocked such support, despite its competitors supporting it. Playstation has always been known for its exclusivity with its titles, but it seems that transitions over to online play now as well. When asked by Eurogamer about the decision SIE global sales and marketing head Jim Ryan stated, “We’ve got to be mindful of our responsibility to our install base.”

Cuphead Gets a Release Date

E3

Cuphead combines the animation style of a 1930’s Mickey Mouse cartoon – if it were a lot more terrifying – with a retro run-and-gun platformer with a heavy focus on boss battles. As a result of that unique premise and style, it’s been on a lot of fans radar’s since it was announced all the way back at Microsoft’s 2014 E3 press conference. This year’s conference not only showed off a brand new trailer for the upcoming indie game, it also revealed the game’s release date and pricing. The long-awaited will be available for $19.99 on Sept. 29 for both Windows 10 and Xbox One and will feature cross-play for its co-op.
