The worst thing about being a well-known internet personality has to be how many eyes are on you at any given moment. Personally, I feel that as an actor or a musician, there’s still a sense of distance between a fan and them. When it comes to TikTok, celebrities feel a bit more approachable because they reveal so much of their private lives to total strangers. So, I can’t say I was surprised when the eldest son of the New York TikTok family Dougherty Dozen got into a car crash that absolutely everyone and their mother knew about. I guess that’s the price some pay for fame.
The video above depicts a car crash involving Alex Dougherty, the oldest child in a family of 12 foster children, all of whom were adopted by the same family that shares their lives on TikTok. The New York teen is known for being spoiled by his mother, who even fills his personal refrigerator to ensure he never goes hungry. This excessive coddling has definitely contributed to his current situation because while his car lies in a ditch, hundreds of onlookers are present, some of whom are mocking him. One person in the comments of the above video said, “He ainโt getting his fridge restocked for the whole month.”
The accident doesn’t seem to be severe. In fact, it appears more as though Alex drove the car into a ditch without realizing how deep it was, trapping his truck in a manner than forced the wheels above the ground. Police officers can also be seen in the video speaking with Alex, likely getting his side of the story. In other videos posted by onlookers, there are various alcoholic beverages strewn around the floor. Whether they were drunk by Alex prior to the crash has remained to be seen.
The Dougherty Dozen channel is known for spending quite a lot of money on their children. While most of the children are not as prevalent on the channel, Alex remains as one of the most recorded and known by fans. So, it comes as no surprise that the news of his car accident spread as quickly as it did.
