After all of the hype, speculation and news we’ve been faced with over the last few years, it’s hard to believe that the fabled Oculus Rift will finally be released on March 28th. Of course, like any piece of gaming hardware, the Rift’s success will likely hinge on the games available to play on it. Well, we can confirm that one of those games will be Elite Dangerous.

For those of you who don’t know what Elite Dangerous is, the Oculus Blog sums it up quite nicely;
“Elite Dangerous is an AAA game that combines the open-world depth of an MMO with a player-driven narrative and realistic combat simulation. Set in a futuristic, cut-throat version of our own galaxy, Elite Dangerous starts things off with your own starship and just a few credits โ from there, itโs up to you to become a superpower amongst the galaxyโs elite.

Basically, you’re given set loose in a massive galaxy where you can make your way to the top in any number of ways including combat, exploration and extortion. Elite: Dangerous is also the first game in the series to include online multiplayer.
Already available on consoles and PC, currentย Elite: Dangerous season pass owners can get the Oculus version free of charge.
