That’s the goal of Night Terror; make the game as scary as possible by reaching through the fourth wall and grabbing your scrawny neck. Players will find themselves wandering around their homes at night, earphones in, looking through their phone screen.
Your goal? There’s a young girl trapped somewhere in your house. So you just need to find her and tell her to stop looking through your post right?
If yout thought it was as simple as that, go sit at the back of the room. Because it wouldn’t be a horror game without the walking wandering dead in the form of ghosts haunting your home. Good luck sleeping after playing this game.
In the words of the developer;
‘The game controls what you see, what you hear, and where you go. Your device’s LED is all the light you get. The camera and microphone feeds are analyzed and processed in real time. Photorealistic elements are added to the camera feed. Audio is spatialized, mixed with the microphone feed, and then routed to the headphones delivering an immersive binaural audio experience.’
So like you can see in the trailer, pictures will seemingly fall off the wall, glowing eyes will be seen behind you in the mirror. Spatialized audio means that you will hear movement from the direction the game needs you to.
Night Terrors is guaranteed for i Phone 5 and up but, with enough funding, Android and Windows phone users can be too frightened to sleep as well. At the time of writing, Night Terrors has 25% of its $70,000 funding.
