Another year, another EVO, and you know what that means: a lot of announcements, reveals, winners, and even some crash-outs dating back 10 years. EVO 2025 was one of the best in recent memory, and one that we won’t soon forget due to everything it showed for the ever-growing fighting games landscape. Whether you missed it or just want a quick compilation of everything that happened, we’ve gathered every winner, announcement, and reveal of EVO 2025.
All Game Announcements and Updates
While many actually stay to watch the tournament, others just stick around for the new game announcements and updates to existing fighting titles. Fortunately, there were many for some recently launched games and a few other surprises.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 – Title Update
Let’s start with one of the most recent fighting game collections of this year, Capcom Fighting Collection 2. The first title updates will arrive on August 7 and bring new artwork, tracks, but most importantly, new characters to Street Fighter Alpha 3. Maki, Yun, Eagle, and Ingrid will join the fight for free next week, and you can toggle these characters on and off at any moment. Furthermore, Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein will get the new Combo Routes feature, allowing you to see all the possible moves for every character.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves – Ken Masters
Everyone’s favorite, or not-so-favorite if you come from Street Fighter 6, Ken Masters has arrived on Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Contrary to other character announcements, Ken Masters is available right now and has all of his iconic moves, including the Hadoken and Shoryuken. While Ken is available right now, Chun-Li is arriving sometime during winter.
Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising – Wilnas
Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising had already a superb roster at launch, but it has gotten bigger with many new characters from the Granblue Fantasy universe, and even everyone’s favorite and most fan-serviceable android from Square Enix. However, it is now time for Wilnas to join the roster. His debut isn’t far away, as Wilnas will land on August 5, 2025, as announced at the recent EVO tournament.
Guilty Gear: Strive – Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
EVO 2025 unveiled one of the most surprising crossovers for Guilty Gear: Strive, which brings Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Initially, we didn’t know how well Lucy would adapt to a fighting landscape, but after watching her moves and some nods to the quickhack system of Cyberpunk 2077, we’re sure she’ll be a force to be reckoned with. Lucy arrives on August 21, 2025, as part of the Season Pass 4.
HUNTERxHUNTER NENxIMPACT – Season Pass 1
The anime fighter, HUNTERxHUNTER NENxIMPACT, teased its Season Pass 1, with Neferpitou arriving sometime during fall 2025. After that, we got teasers of Phinks, Shizuku, and Zeno coming in the following seasons. While the game had a rough launch, this Season Pass could change things around and bring some more people to the arena, or so we hope.
Invincible VS – Omni-Man Reveal
We all knew this day was coming, and it came in the most aggressive yet enjoyable way. Invincible VS just unveiled Omni-Man’s gameplay, and it is everything we hoped for, and more. You can see Omni-Man’s iconic “Think, Mark, think,” phrase, and the evolution of the subway scene, where Omni-Man now takes you across a city, faceplants you against buildings, and drops a huge pointy boulder at you. Yes, it is that gruesome.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls – Closed Beta
Marvel Tokon has been one of the most anticipated fighting games of recent memory, and with good reason. Its lineup is fantastic, the art style is amazing, and the gameplay is the most satisfying thing to watch. Soon we’ll be able to experience it. There is a closed beta coming for PS5 users, and you can register here.
Netcode Warriors New Trailer
We already knew about the new upcoming Netcode Warriors game, and EVO 2025 unveiled a brand-new extended trailer. While many think this is a Digimon-like fighting game, it is much more, as it features excellent characters, an interesting take on the arena fighting genre, and overall, it looks pretty promising. Right now, you can only wishlist the game, but I’m sure many fighting game enthusiasts will want to grab it when it launches.
Street Fighter 6 – C. Viper and Swimsuits
Street Fighter 6 is now slowing down on its kicks and punches, and we can see it with the upcoming characters and the not-so-necessary but always-welcome swimsuit outfits. Luke, Jamie, Kimberly, Manon, A.K.I., Cammy, and Chun-Li will get new swimsuit outfits on August 5, which is when Sagat also arrives in the game. However, EVO 2025 also gave us a gameplay teaser of C. Viper, which you can watch right here.
Tekken 8 – Armor King & Miary Zo
The long-awaited Armor King is finally coming to Tekken 8, and while he won’t arrive until October 16, 2025, we finally got a gameplay reveal trailer, and it is looking feral. So far, people’s reactions have been great, which might be what Tekken 8 needs to regain everyone’s favor. Furthermore, we know a brand-new character, Miary Zo, is also on her way, but won’t arrive until later.
UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys: Celes
Out of all Arc System Works titles, Under Night In-Birth might not be the most famous, but it has a fan base of dedicated players who are always excited about the new updates. And well, the most recent one won’t take long to arrive. Izumi launches on August 19 for all platforms except Nintendo Switch. Those who own Nintendo’s platform will have to wait until August 21 to get their hands on this “Initiator.”
Virtua Fighter – Gameplay Showcase
We all know that the new Virtua Fighter Project is causing ripples across the whole fighting games scene, and it just made a huge splash with the recent combat gameplay. Besides looking at the new training stage, we got to see some of the moves, collisions, animations, and just how precise and deadly every punch and kick feels. We still don’t have a release date or more information about it, but it looks like this could be the “next-gen” fighting game we’ve been waiting for.
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage – Console Launch
Last but not least, the previously PC-only Virta Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is finally coming to consoles. PS4 owners of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown will get a discount for this game, and those on Steam will get the brand-new World Stage single-player mode for free when the game launches.

The 10-Year-Old Crash-out
One story worth pointing out has a decade-old background. Ten years ago, GO1 went to EVO for the first time and won four side games, and then beat KojiKOG in the finals. Now, in EVO 2025, the story repeated, and both reprised their 10-year-old feud, crash-out, or whatever you want to call it. It was definitely hilarious, but it gets even better once you know a bit of the background behind the rivalry.
Other than that, EVO 2025 was an excellent event with amazing announcements and superb fighting from all the contestants. Even if the fighting genre tends to fall short at times, it is great to see that the fan base is always backing these games up and willing to show their love for it one punch at a time.
