Fallout TV Series Drops Full-Length Trailer and a Premiere Date That’s Earlier Than Expected

Nuclear winter is on it’s way! Not literally, of course.

The first full-length trailer for Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout live-action TV series has been released and it comes included with a surprise premiere date that’s actually even earlier than what was initially promised. Live-action video game adaptations have been notoriously problematic in the past, resulting in some natural skepticism even from hardcore fans of the post-apocalypse shooter series, but the combination of this promising trailer and Westworld director Jonathan Nolan being attached make it seem like Fallout could, hopefully, break the mold.

Fallout on Amazon Prime Video: Full Trailer

The upcoming Fallout Season 1 had received a brief teaser clip a few months ago, but this full trailer gives a much better idea of what this show is aiming for both tonally and thematically. Maybe the best news for everyone looking forward to the release of Season 1 is that the full trailer also comes with the announcement that all episodes of Fallout will be available to stream through Amazon Prime Video on April 11th. The official release date for Season 1 was April 12th prior to today, so fans will be able to venture into this Wasteland drama a whole day sooner.

The trailer is full of faces that TV fans will know and love. Michael Emerson, most notable from Lost — though his starring role in one of Jonathan Nolan’s earlier shows Person of Interest also stands out — is thoroughly featured as his character Wilzig. In addition, Walton Goggins from Invincible, The Righteous Gemstones, and a large number of other significant film is featured as Cooper Howard and his Ghoul makeup looks absolutely spot-on.

Ella Purnell, meanwhile, as the leading character Lucy also gets more thoroughly fleshed out as a wide-eyed and sheltered Vault Dweller who learns from the Wasteland the hard way. Plus, we also get a brief glimpse at a Mirelurk! Overall, the hype train for Fallout is loaded and preparing to arrive a whole 24 hours earlier than initially expected.
