Fans have been waiting for more news on Amazon’s Fallout TV series, and it’s finally here. Amazon Studios first announced that a TV series based on Bethesda’s Fallout games was in development back in 2020, and in 2022, it was announced that filming for the series had started. Filming for the Fallout series wrapped earlier this year, but fans still had questions about the series, like where it would take place and when it would actually be released. Now, a new piece of promotional art included in an announcement from Prime Video has answered both of those questions.

In an announcement made earlier today, Prime Video confirmed that the Fallout series would be released sometime in 2024. In addition, the streaming service shared a piece of promotional art that shares the franchise’s unique vintage style, showcasing the iconic Vault Boy on a postcard from Los Angeles – “Where Dreams Come True.” This confirms that the series, centered around Vault 33, will be set in L.A., opening the series up to new ground untouched by the Fallout games. Even though the series is taking the Fallout universe to new places, Amazon and Bethesda have been quick to reassure fans that the show will still feature much of the game series’ unique iconography.

Other than the setting and release window announced by Prime Video, not much else is currently known about Amazon and Bethesda’s Fallout TV series. The plot of the series is being kept under lock and key, as Amazon and Bethesda are both known to do. If the Fallout series follows the same pattern as the Fallout games at all, we can likely expect it to feature a lone Vault survivor searching for their loved one(s), but there’s no way to know for sure. It has been confirmed that the series will star Moises Arias, Johnny Pemberton, Walton Goggins, and Ella Purnell, among other names, though the series’ director and producers have not been revealed yet.
