DUIs often result in ugly accidents for the driver and everyone involved, but one TV personality from Florida took the stakes up a notch by including his wife and kids in a late-night DUI spree. Thankfully, the man has since been arrested, though his career as an entertainer and producer will likely take a significant downturn.
The incident and arrest took place back on May 18 at around 2:20 AM in Brevard County, Florida. A Brevard County deputy had managed to measure the speed of an overspeeding Chevrolet Equinox at 118 MPH right before it slammed the brakes and pulled over. The deputy was then surprised to see that the driver also had his wife in the car with him in the passenger seat, while his two kids, aged one and eight years old, slept in the backseat.
Additionally, the Brevard County deputy claimed that the man, later identified as Juan Espinosa, reeked of alcohol as he talked to the officer. Espinosa, however, denied that he had alcohol in his system as the deputy asked him to perform field sobriety exercises.
“Folks, no matter how many times we say it, people continue to put their lives at risk, the innocent lives of our citizens on the roadway, and in this case, the people who he should love and care for the most, his family,” according to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, transcript courtesy of KBTX.
It just so happens that Juan Espinosa is also a celebrity in Florida, as he’s part of a show called El Gordo y la Flaca and is known as “Carlitos el Productor” in the Univision TV show. For the record, Univision is a Spanish-language TV network in the US and the largest provider of such content in the country.

Brevard County authorities have immediately arrested Juan Espinosa and charged him with DUI and child neglect. It appears Espinosa’s wife and kids are unharmed from his DUI spree; however, it’s not clear how involved his wife was in the incident or how long he has been overspeeding.
Espinosa was also taken to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Florida, for his DUI mugshot. Consequently, the man’s face and behavior during the incident have become the subject of ridicule online because he appears to still be drunk and happy even after endangering his wife, kids, and the streets of Florida.
Some have deemed Espinosa an unapologetic sociopath, though there’s a chance he was still too drunk to know what was going on during the mugshot. Regardless, Espinosa’s actions are still no doubt reckless and selfish, especially since he involved his whole family, and this has angered even some of his fans.
