Undoubtedly, Florida is one of the flashiest places in the US. Whether it’s its places, people, events, or something else, there’s always something that allures us to this state. However, there are a few things that don’t hit quite right for some people. Such is the case of the Florida PD unveiling a new Corvette patrol car. Normally, this would be a great thing to brag about, and some citizens might enjoy watching it roam the streets. Yet, it left many citizens underwhelmed and wondering if the police department needed a vehicle like this in the first place.
The original post came from the Florida subreddit, but the mods took down the video. Yet, X user Joel Franco shared the pictures of the new Corvette patrol car in Florida. Initially, many thought the PD spent money to place this car out in the streets. However, the above post claims the following, “The vehicle was not purchased with state funds but instead seized by FHP and DEA.” In a way, this calms many people down, as the government isn’t spending money on flashy cars. On the other hand, this vehicle feels a bit overkill.
Before the Reddit post got removed, many users had things to say about this addition to the Police Department.
“Kids, don’t do drugs. But if you do, drive the cheapest POS you can because it’ll be a cop car one day otherwise.” – TallBenWyatt_13 via Reddit.
“Is it me? Or does it just look meh?” – XenasBreastDagger via Reddit.
While we can all agree that Corvette is an excellent brand, having it as a patrol car is just too much. Even if the vehicle was seized and then repurposed as a patrol car, the PD could’ve gone for a less flashy car. Then again, we’re talking about Florida and flashy is just an adjective that fits this state so well.
