There are no fixed rules to how you should deal with your family. There are also no fixed rules on how grief should look like. One Florida woman who lost her brother shared on TikTok her unique way of dealing with her brother’s death. She will do an unexpected act every time she gets angry at her brother for dying. The Florida woman’s sense of humor made thousands of people leave comments under her video where they made jokes as well. Some even shared their own stories of how they dealt with grief because someone close to them passed away.

In the video posted by the Florida woman, she shows herself holding a small urn that contains her brother’s ashes. She then proceeds to violently shake the urn in her hand before stopping and then shaking again. The video ends with the Florida woman smiling. She wrote on top of the video, “When I’m mad at my brother for dying, I go and violently shake him to remind him it’s bs that he left me he’e alone.” You can even hear in the background her son saying, “What the?” as he is shocked because of the violent shaking. The Florida woman also wrote in the caption “It’s my son in the background going ‘whATTT THE??! Mind your business bud unc [sic] and I gotta throw hands right fast.”

People Reacting to the Florida Woman’s Video

While the video clearly shows the Florida woman’s grief, it also has some humor in it. This prompted people in the comments to make jokes about the situation. One person wrote with a crying emoji, “His new friends thinking he’s having seizures.” Another said, “Bro in the afterlife: what did I do now?” One person even gave the video a rating as they said, “The commentary from the person next to you, the aggressive shaking.. dark comedy 10/10” Another person comforted the Florida woman by saying, “You know what. Yea he’s probably laughing so hard. He misses you too I’m sure.”The jokes kept going which made the video feel lighthearted instead of shocking. “Bro thought dying was gonna end the sibling rivalry,” one person wrote. Another TikTok user left a comment saying, “Him to his new friends ‘sorry guys, that was my sister, she a hater’.” One user even pointed out how small the urn was. “I’m assuming since it’s so little that his ashes are in multiple urns. Be careful you don’t know what part you got,” they wrote.

People Sharing Their Own Grief Stories

The Florida woman’s video encouraged others to share their own stories of grief and how they deal with it. “Mines buried so I have to go look like a weirdo and stomp on the ground,” one jokingly said. Another shared a heartwarming comment where they said, “My sister died when she snuck out at 16yo & when I was 16 sneaking out, I tried to take her ashes with me so she could sneak out of the house one last time.” The funny comments kept going as another TikTok user wrote, “I feel ya.. I got my bro on the shelf with a dozen Nerf darts stuck to his urn. Wherever I’m pissed at him I just pop another dart in his ass lol.”

While some people joked, others shared their own stories to try and comfort the Florida woman. One mother wrote, “I lost my oldest son, he was only 26, in Nov. 2022.. We get by on dark humor! His wife tells people that her husband ghosted her… I’m deeply sorry for your loss, sadly we know the pain..” it’s a good thing that amid pain, the Florida woman still found a way to joke about her brother’s death. It’s even heartwarming that people joked with her and shared their own stories of how they deal with grief so that she won’t feel alone.
