Sports Interactive has dropped update 23.5 for Football Manager 23, and here are the comprehensive patch notes pointing to the changes. Just as in the previous update, the game’s latest version focuses on several things increasing the gameplay, such as addressing an issue where ‘Add/Remove Leagues’ was adding new gens as opposed to real players. Check out the Football Manager 23 update 23.5 patch notes below.

Here’s a full of the patch notes for Update 1.22 via Sports Interactive:

A standalone release because of the later-than-usual closing of the Chinese transfer window, this Update features more than 83,000 database changes. A new save game will be required to play with these competition and data-specific changes in place. There are a few small general gameplay fixes included in this update, and these will take effect in current careers.

The changes in the 23.5 update include, but are not limited to:

  • Addressed an issue where ‘Add/Remove Leagues’ was adding new gens as opposed to real players
  • [FM23 Editor] Fixed an issue where specific editor files failed to be verified
  • [FM23 Console] Addressed an issue where users were unable to start Versus mode with imported teams

Most updates of this nature should download automatically, but if yours doesn’t, simply quit and relaunch Steam or the Epic Games Store to prompt it to do so. If you’re playing via the Windows Store or Game Pass, you may need to manually search for the update.

You can manually check for updates on Xbox by hovering over Football Manager 2023 Console, pressing the menu button, navigating to ‘Manage game and add-ons,’ and selecting ‘updates.’ To check for an update on PS5, highlight a game thumbnail in your game’s home and press the options button to display the options menu. Select Check for Update. If an update is available, follow the instructions to install the update.

On your iPhone and iPad, apps that you download from the App Store are automatically updated by default. If there’s an issue, you can update an app manually. For FM23 Mobile players on Android, the game should update automatically. You can update manually by opening the Google Play Store App and tapping the profile icon. From there, tap ‘Manage Apps and Device.’ Apps with an update available are labeled ‘Update available.’

The 23.5 update for Football Manager 2023 is available on PlayStation 5, Apple Arcade, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, and PC.
