The ladies of The View continue to discuss the ongoing political climate as the country prepares to receive Donald Trump as its next president. On Thursday’s episode, the co-hosts discussed the question on everyone’s minds — What is the deal between Elon Musk & Trump?
It is no news that the tech billionaire was key in helping Trump secure the November 2024 elections. The pair have since formed an alliance, with Musk even earning a political appointment to serve in the Republican’s administration. While the elites seem to have a oneness of vision, the co-hosts of The View believe the bond will break soon because of their clashing personalities. Whoopi Goldberg kickstarted the topic while referencing Musk’s input in shutting down Speaker Mike Johnson’s Spending Bill. “It has a lot of folks asking who is in charge,” she said of the situation before sharing her two cents.
“I think Elon Musk believes he’s president. I called him vice president, I called him president because I don’t know what J.D. [Vance] Is doing. I hardly ever — I don’t remember the last time we even talked about J.D.”
She continued, “But it kind of seems like maybe he [Musk] is the president because he got a promotion of some sort that none of us knew about.” Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin then jumped in, saying that although she sees an alignment between Trump and Musk, she fears their relationship is shaky.
“Here’s what I’m fascinated by. They both have main character energy. They both want to be powerful and the people in charge, and I’m not convinced that this alliance is going to be super long lasting. There’s going to be friction between Elon and Trump.”
How Does Donald Trump Feel About President Musk’s Rhetoric?
The women of The View aren’t the only ones bothered about the uncertain power dynamics. Per reports, president-elect Trump isn’t fond of the “President Musk” jokes and sent a message to set the record straight. Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary for Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, in a statement said:
“As soon as President Trump released his official stance on the CR, Republicans on Capitol Hill echoed his point of view. President Trump is the leader of the Republican Party. Full stop.”
Unfortunately, Donald Trump’s strong message seems to have done nothing to quell citizens’ worries.
“Just wait till Elon tries to push Donald’s hand off the bible at the inauguration. ‘Sorry Donald, I paid for that,'” mocked one fan.
“Eventually, they’re going to clash. We might as well speed up the process,” another comment read.
“Let the d**k measuring commence. It was actually a pro move by Democrats to troll Trump by calling Musk the real President,” quipped a third fan.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk are yet to address the gossip of a power tussle. Only time will tell how long the Bromance will last.
