It is time for another super school year. Amazon has renewed Gen V, the college spinoff of the streamer’s flagship series The Boys, for season 2. The news comes ahead of episode six, Jumanji, for the debut eight-episode season. The finale will premiere on Prime Video on November 3.

The series connects to the mainline series around the events of season 3. Set at a supe university, these college students face the usual struggles of 20-somethings off on their own to get an education: friendship drama, parties gone wrong, and conspiracies of imprisonment, torture, and murder.

The news of Gen V getting renewed for season 2 was confirmed on its social media. A video showed the main cast of college students reacting to the announcement. They are cheering and hugging to celebrate more time together and more time to get covered in fake blood.

Amazon has shown continued confidence in its superhero universe. For The Boys, it was renewed before season 1 aired. The same move was made when it was renewed for season 3 before season 2 premiered.

The series was co-created by The Boys mastermind Eric Kripke and writer of the main series, Craig Rosenberg. Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as the showrunners. They will continue their duties moving forward for the next season.

While anyone can die in Gen V, like in The Boys, we can expect anyone to make it for the renewed season 2. The show stars Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lizze Broadway (Ghosted), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), London Thor (Shameless), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), and Asa Germann (Dahmer).

Now that the WGA deal has gone through, the show’s writers will be fairly compensated for this success. The actors are currently on strike, hoping to have a similar deal, which would greatly help when season 2 arrives.

Gen V is streaming on Prime Video.
