General Hospital has created many iconic characters throughout its six decades on the air. As with many soap operas, a character sometimes leaves, but the door remains open for a future return. Within the past year, the ABC drama has brought back Jason Morgan, Lois Cerullo, and Jagger Cates. And it appears another fan favorite could be making a comeback in 2024. During a red carpet interview at last week’s Daytime Emmys, executive producer Frank Valentini told ABC 7, that he has big plans for the show. Among his plans is bringing back a former character.
A former cast member is coming back. And I think that the audience will go crazy for HIM.
Which Former General Hospital Star Is Returning?
Speculation is already beginning about which General Hospital star is returning. There are many people that viewers would love to see back onscreen. One rumor is that either Jonathan Jackson or Greg Vaughan could reprise their role as Lucky Spencer.
Lucky is the son of super couple Luke and Laura Spencer. He was a huge part of the show’s legacy, and his on-again,off-again romance with Elizabeth Webber was a central storyline. His last appearance came in 2015, and a lot of occurred during his absence. Lucky is needed at home to be with his mom Laura, who needs support as she deals with family turmoil.
Another person who could return is William deVry as Julian Jerome. Julian is a mob boss and Ava Jerome’s brother, who was presumed dead in a bridge collapse. The fan theory is that Julian is alive and currently working with Ava to take down Sonny Corinthos. Port Charles needs a good villain, and bringing back their most popular bad guy will shake things up.
Bryan Craig is another cast member who’s rumored to be returning. From 2013 to 2016, the Daytime Emmy winner portrayed Morgan Corinthos. Morgan was popular with fans and although he was killed in a car bombing, speculation is he’s still alive. Craig has stated he’d love to come back to the show and his recent tweets on X teased a return.
Could one of these men be the mystery character returning to General Hospital? Or could it be someone else such as Luke, Peter August, or Spencer Cassadine? Fans will have to wait patiently for the surprise return, and hopefully, they won’t be disappointed.
