If you thought Natlan’s main plot involving Mavuika and the heroes was great, wait until you see what the next update has in store for all Travelers. HoYoverse just unveiled Version 5.7 for Genshin Impact, and it will be one of the most impactful (no pun intended) in terms of gameplay and story. We finally have the arrival of Skirk, one of the most anticipated characters, as well as a crucial plot point for the twins.
Genshin Impact Version 5.7 Launches on June 18
As tradition dictates, we’ve included the trailer for Version 5.7 in case you missed the latest Special Program for Genshin Impact. As you can see, the story is moving its focus to the twins again, and we have some familiar faces making an appearance, who will certainly set the stage for future updates.
Beyond that, we finally have the debut of Skirk, Childe’s mysterious master. She arrives as a 5-Star character who wields the Cryo element and uses a sword. Dahlia will also debut as a 4-star character, who wields the Hydro element and a sword. Both of them will be part of the first phase, alongside the re-run of Shenhe.
For the second phase, Natlan’s Archon, Mavuika, will get her first re-run alongside Emilie, who’s also getting her first re-run. Both of these characters are great, with the former being one of the best in the game right now. However, Emilie is an excellent sub-DPS who fits in different team compositions.
The Twins’ Story Moves Forward

Another notable thing about this update is the upcoming Archon quest, which will focus on the twins. It’s been a while since we had an update focusing only on Aether or Lumine, so it is great to see them take the spotlight once more. Furthermore, the Special Program for Genshin Impact Version 5.7 teased new details regarding Nod Krai, and you can see the video below.
Last but not least, there are many events coming with this update. We have a new event hosted by the Sumeru Akademiya that will reward you with Sethos once you complete it. Stygian Onslaught will be a new permanent combat mode that will feature three bosses that will rotate with every update. Participating in this event will allow you to obtain the “Dust of Enlightenment” item, which re-rolls minor affixes’ enhancements on a Level 20 Artifact. And if you prefer something more lighthearted, “Traveler’s Tales: Gilded Chapter” will feature stories from all around Teyvat with Thomas in Mondstadt, Neuvillete in Merusea Village, and Dori and Sayu in Inazuma.
Overall, Version 5.7 will be one of the biggest in Genshin Impact, and one that will surely set the stage for what’s to come. So, if you want to see what’s next for the twins, make sure to jump into Teyvat once this update arrives on June 18.
