A Georgia woman caught a few seconds of her terrible Uber ride on camera and used it to expose the man and the company. The Atlanta native took to social media to share a video of her Uber driver turning around and looking her up and down. The woman claimed that the man was trying to see under her dress throughout the duration of the trip, and even nearly ran off the road.
In her TikTok video, the social media user is sitting in the back seat of the vehicle and captured her driver turning around and staring at her while stopped at a red light. He noticed her filming and asked her how she was doing. The woman showed little interest in speaking to the man during the uncomfortable 20-minute ride. However, she later posted the video and didn’t hesitate to try to get it noticed. The Georgia woman even tagged Uber in the clip.
The official Uber account left a reply for all to see in the comments, revealing that they were taking the incident seriously and that they were looking into the situation.
“Support Team Here – We take rider safety very seriously and this behavior is not acceptable. We have escalated this to a specialized team who is actively investigating,” Uber’s TikTok account commented.
Georgia Woman Shares Details Of Uncomfortable Uber Ride
The video garnered more than 4.2 million views within the first two days after it was shared on the social media platform. It also racked up 301K likes and nearly 5,000 comments. Many of the comments were made by women who sympathized with the online creator, revealing that it must have been scary for her to deal with.
“I was in shock,” the woman told one of her followers in the comments section. She also revealed to another the man has been “circling” her neighborhood because his Uber account got banned. She later claimed that Uber “offered” her “2K.”
Meanwhile, many others offered her love and support after the incident.
“It was so deliberate no shame in his eyes at all, he too brave,” one person wrote.
“I’m so sorry my love this is insanely traumatizing,” said another.
“And this is the main reason why I always sit behind the driver’s seat!!” a third person stated.
“As a man this is unacceptable. The challenges women face on a daily basis still leaves me jaw dropped in this day and age,” a fourth comment read.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that a person has had an uncomfortable drive in a ride-share vehicle. There are countless stories on the internet of feeling unsafe and even being attacked. Thankfully, this Georgia woman escaped any physical harm during her uneasy Uber ride.
