Geralt & Ciri Return to The Witcher in 2025, ‘Even the Formidable White Wolf Knows to Surrender’

Everyone’s favorite albino mutant and his daughter are back in The Witcher franchise! Just not in the way you think. Sadly, Geralt and Ciri haven’t been confirmed yet in the tentatively titled The Witcher 4 even though the game is already in development. Instead, you’ll have to make do with Geralt and Ciri in another entertainment medium, namely graphic novels– or children’s comic books.

In that sense, Geralt and Ciri are reprising their roles once more. You’ll see them again in a comic book called The Little Witcher. It was created by CD Projekt RED and illustrated by Giada Carboni. The Little Witcher is a children’s graphic novel storybook set to be released on May 13, 2025.

You can pre-order the book as early as today, if you’re excited. However, it’s worth noting that this Witcher story won’t be as dark or as mature as the video games and the main book. Instead, The Little Witcher will focus on Ciri’s child-rearing stages back in Kaer Morhen. It covers the years after Geralt fully adopted her as his surrogate child.

The Little Witcher is an Illustrated Children’s Storybook

This one’s a more light-hearted take on the dark fantasy franchise and a perfect bridge for gamer parents and their children whom they might want to turn into Witcher fans early on. Here’s the synopsis:

Young Ciriโ€™s extensive training at Kaer Morhen, the witchersโ€™ stronghold, includes everything she needs to learn to survive the many threats in her world . . . as well as all the antics and fun of a little girl bonding with her adoptive dad and family.

With help from Geralt and Ciriโ€™s closest companionsโ€”including the motherly magic of Yennefer of Vengerberg and the wisdom of uncle Vesemirโ€”these adorable tales of a non-traditional family will make you laugh, make you sigh, and make you realize that raising a Little Witcher is not that different from raising any other kid. Sure, bedtime stories might include warnings of monsters who fart when surprised, and Geralt might invoke the Witcher Code to get Ciri to brush her teeth or clean her room, but even the formidable White Wolf knows to surrender when it comes to bedtime battles or Afternoon Tea with the toys.

Looks like the whole Kaer Morhen family– Geralt, Ciri, & Yennefer from The Witcher, will be there. It should also be an ideal baby shower gift for a lot of gamer parents who grew up on The Witcher games. If anything, it might feature some exclusive story bits and insight into Geralt and Ciri’s past.

As for updates on The Witcher 4, CD Projekt RED has apparently made substantial progress. 400 people are working on it according to Games Radar. That’s a lot of heads and talent for a single game. So you can rest assured that it will likely be in good hands. In the meantime, you can spend the wait with your own Ciri over The Little Witcher in 2025.
