Whenever a big game is announced, there’s always a sliver of fear when it comes to it actually reaching its intended release date. The only thing that makes a gamer’s heart rest easy is learning that the upcoming title has reached gold, which is something that just happened with Ghost of Yotei. Almost a month ahead of its launch, Sucker Punch and Sony have unveiled the gold status for this upcoming action-adventure title, which means that the release date is set in stone, and we only have to wait a couple of weeks more to experience Atsu’s story.
Ghost of Yotei Goes Gold Almost a Month Before Its Launch
Today, Sucker Punch Productions and Sony announced that Ghost of Yotei has finally gone gold. For the inexperienced gamers, this basically means that the game is now able to hit physical and digital shelves. The final build is ready. However, that doesn’t mean a game should go live instantly, as some developers tend to use the extra time to polish a few things before a release. Yet, the fact that any title goes gold a month ahead of launch is impressive, and it just shows how hard the studio has been working to deliver this next adventure in the Ghost series.
Beyond that, and in case you missed it, Sucker Punch and Sony also announced the limited edition console bundles for Ghost of Yotei. You’ll be able to pre-order these bundles and accessories starting on September 4, and at the time of writing, it seems the bundles are for the base PS5 console only. However, there are some PS5 Pro accessories, in case you want to bring the Ghost of Yotei experience outside of the game and into your home. Like many other bundles, remember to check regional restrictions.
In any case, it is great to see that Ghost of Yotei is just around the corner. We’ve already seen many gameplay videos showcasing the deadly arsenal Atsu will use, but also other footage showcasing the more soothing and immersive parts of the series, which look much better now for this entry. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to experience all of that, as we’re almost one month away from diving into the beautiful landscapes of Ezo.
