Elon Musk‘s ex-girlfriend Grimes is criticizing him after their son X Æ A-Xii, often called Lil X, made an unexpected media appearance on Tuesday. The tech mogul took his son to the White House, but it wasn’t for sightseeing purposes.
The 4-year-old joined his father and President Donald Trump in the Oval Office for a press conference to answer questions about the newly created DOGE team. The pair discussed the cost-cutting measures while slamming corrupt civil service practices. However, all the attention was on Lil X, who was seen sitting on his dad’s shoulder at some point. Like any 4-year-old, the preschooler picked his nose and made playful and bored faces at the camera.
While standing by the Resolute Desk, Lil X whispered to President Trump, who introduced him to the nation as a “high-IQ” individual. Unfortunately, the little one’s media appearance didn’t go without a bit of drama from the boy’s mother, Grimes. The singer took to social media to raise alarm after a fan complimented Lil X’s behavior at the White House. “Lil X was very polite today! You raised him well,” the user penned, to which the Canadian artist replied:
“He should not be in public like this. I did not see this; thank you for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
Grimes’ complaint isn’t surprising, as the Oblivion singer is a vocal critic of her ex-partner’s parenting. After their breakup, the former lovers were involved in a bitter custody battle for their three kids. She once accused him of keeping one of their kids away from her, calling him “unrecognizable.”
Jimmy Fallon Makes Mockery Of Elon Musk & Lil X Visit
As expected, Grimes’ complaint sparked concern among netizens who slammed the Tesla CEO for parading their son.
“Have you watched literally any news broadcast for the last couple months?” one fan wrote to Grimes. “He’s been using your kid like a prop.”
“I feel bad for her in this case. Her kid is being used as a pawn, being paraded around for millions to see, and she has no idea,” a second fan wrote.
“Look at this woman’s life… this is so sad kinda,” a third comment read.
Grimes, however, isn’t the only one who has a bone to pick with Musk and Lil X’s appearance. Jimmy Fallon heavily mocked the father-son photo-op by brining his son to work during Wednesday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Wearing a black baseball cap similar to Musk’s, Fallon carried his son, also dressed like Lil X, on his shoulders.
During his opening monologue, the comedian, however, described Musk and Lil X as “pretty cute.”
