Halle Bailey and DDG are currently caught up in a legal mess. The Little Mermaid star was just granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend and father of her child after accusing him of physical and verbal abuse. She initially tried to resolve things with DDG on her own. However, she was eventually forced to take him to court after realizing he wasn’t willing to change his ways.
Inside Halle Bailey and DDG’s Legal Battle
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Halle Bailey and DDG’s relationship turned violent in January. The actress was putting their son, Halo, inside the rapper’s car when DDG (whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr) began getting irritated with Bailey. He allegedly called her a “b*tch” several times, which caused the two to start “wrestling and tussling.”
During their altercation, DDG is said to have pulled Bailey’s hair before slamming her face into the car’s steering wheel. It left her with bruises and a chipped tooth. “I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain,” Bailey claimed. Because of what happened, Bailey decided to accompany her son for the drive over to DDG’s house to ensure his safety.
The next incident between Halle Bailey and DDG happened in March when the YouTube star allegedly entered his ex-girlfriend’s house while she wasn’t home. Bailey said DDG took a picture of her bed and sent her a message accusing her of sleeping with other men. Just days later, she said DDG returned to her home to see their son. Since Bailey and Halo were both sick, she turned DDG away, which reportedly led him to get verbally abusive again. He is also said to have broken her Ring camera and thrown her phone.
In her filing, Bailey also accused DDG of repeatedly “badmouthing” her on social media. “He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men,” the Disney star said, adding his followers have threatened her online as a result.
The Court Orders Him to Stay Away
Although Halle Bailey has tried “everything possible” to get DDG to stop, her efforts have apparently been to no avail. In the end, she was forced to go to court and get a restraining order against him. “I cannot allow this abuse any longer. I cannot keep living like this,” she said.
As part of the order, DDG is not allowed to be within 100 yards of Bailey and their son. The protection is in place until a hearing in June.
The news comes just months after Bailey and DDG announced their breakup in October 2024 after two years of being in a relationship. They first got together in early 2022. After a year of dating, the pair welcomed their son, Halo, in December 2023. Halle Bailey kept her pregnancy a secret until she announced Halo’s birth in January 2024.
