Jason Isaacs, whom many of us recognize by his role in the Harry Potter movies as Lucius Malfoy, is making waves in Hollywood thanks to the latest episode of his new show, The White Lotus. In the aforementioned HBO series, Jason Isaacs’ character supposedly bared it all– full frontal nudity, with his visible genitalia, turning the internet abuzz with curiosity or even obsession. Meanwhile Isaacs is starting to be puzzled by all penis questions.
Isaacs’ statement came from an interview with CBS Mornings on Friday, during which he promoted Season 3 of The White Lotus. Of course, the interviewers couldn’t help but ask Isaacs about the nude scene, and whether his penis was the real one or just a prosthetic. Isaacs, seemingly fed up with the obsession about his penis, more or less dodged the question.
“A lot of people are debating it. Itโs all over the internet.
Well, Iโll tell you why [it’s a dodge], because the best actress this year isย Mikey Madison at the Oscars. And I donโt see anybody discussing her vulva, which was on all the time โฆ so I think itโs interesting that thereโs a double standard for men.
But when women are naked, Margaret Qualley as well, inย The Substance,ย nobody would dream of talking to her about her genitalia or her nipples or any of those things. So, it’s odd that thereโs a double standard,โ reasoned Jason Isaacs out in the CBS Mornings interview.
Isaacs neither confirmed nor denied that the penis on the show was real or just a prosthetic. He did however, call out the hosts for the question with some fans defending Isaacs since he was there to promote The White Lotus and not talk about his penis (or whether it was real or fake).
Isaacs also pointed out how the question, particularly on the interview, was somewhat rude for him since it wasn’t something interviewers would ask of female actresses who went nude on-screen. One of the hosts doubled down and did say that he would ask actresses the same question, and at that point, Isaacs simply called out the obsession.
Was It Real Though?
It’s understandable why Jason Isaacs didn’t want to discuss specifics about his penis in an interview with people who are seemingly obsessed about it. However, it turns out there was no need to ask at all since Isaacs’ co-stars in The White Lotus have outed him earlier in the week.
Sam Nivola and Sarah Catherine Hook, both playing as Isaacs’ characters’ children in The White Lotus, have confirmed that “That wasnโt his real penis,” and that “It was a prosthetic.” Furthermore, it was also a funny moment since Isaacs appeared to be excited to shoot the fake penis scene.
The Harry Potter villain himself stated that the nude male scene was a way to balance out all the female nudity from the shows and movies prior. Some viewers have actually noted that the Isaacs’ nude scene didn’t seem convincing at all since they immediately noticed how fake the penis was, even though it was supposedly decent.
