Like previous games in the Resident Evil series, boss fights in the remake can be quite challenging, especially if you’re playing on a higher difficulty level. And if you still want to get S+ Rank, you can’t make mistakes and die. Therefore, you need to prepare for each battle. And one of the most difficult bosses in Resident Evil 4 Remake can be Chief Mendez.

For half of the game, you will encounter this huge man which is very reminiscent of the Tyrant from Resident Evil 2. And in Chapter 6, you will finally be allowed to destroy him. Admittedly, doing so can be a little tricky, as Chief Mendez has quite a variety of attacks.

So, to beat Chief Mendez in Resident Evil 4 Remake, you need to dodge all of his attacks and deal damage to weak spots. In the first phase, we recommend you climb higher, as on the first floor it is quite hard to dodge Chief Mendez’s grab and spinning tentacle attack. Shoot him in the head until he falls, and then fire your rifle into the big eye on his back to deal massive damage. And then keep attacking him until he goes into the second phase.

In the second phase, Chief Mendez will get rid of his underside and will throw barrels of fuel or burning boards at you from the other end of the barn. Now you have to dodge the boards and wait for the enemy to take the barrels. Shoot them as fast as you can to explode and deal a lot of damage to the boss.
