The character creation system in Starfield is rather complex, with countless options to create a virtual version of you, including numerous hairstyles, with a few role-playing aspects, like your background and traits. But one aspect of character creation that so many find frustrating is coming up with a unique and eye-catching name. You may find yourself completely satisfied with the name you chose for the first few hours of gameplay, but what then? What if that name feels odd or doesn’t sound right? It’s possible to change your Starfield character name on PC at any time; it just takes a few credits and the right shop!

It’s entirely possible to change your name in Starfield on PC by visiting one of the Enhance! shops located in any of the major cities in the game. These shops don’t just let you alter your character name. However, they also allow you to customize your character completely. By using these shops, the game will take you straight back to the character creation screen, allowing you to change every bit of your appearance.

You’ll have an opportunity to change your name, pronouns, hair, facial hair, face, and body. You cannot, however, alter your background or traits.

There are a total of three Enhance! shops in the galaxy, and they’re located at:

  • New Atlantis – Commercial District
  • Akila City – Past the main gate, near the barracks.
  • Neon – On the right-hand side of the main street.

Unfortunately, changing your character name on PC is not free. It’s not overly expensive either, though. To change your name at Enhance!, expect to pay 500 credits. Again, that’s not much when half of the items you pick up on Kreet are worth 50-100 credits apiece, sometimes more, and you can always sell unwanted weapons and armor to vendors. But if you expect to change your name or appearance often, you may wish to start stacking credits.
