This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Assigning Roles to Villagers is a great way to multitask. You can get things done faster with someone lending a helping hand, and you can gain extra Friendship points along the way. But what if you no longer want that specific companion to do that specific thing? Well, with the latest update, you can now switch out Roles. We’ll show you exactly how you can change Villager Roles in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Although assigning Roles is a useful feature, sometimes you want to mix things up with the companions you bring along with you. Maybe you want to hang out with new characters like Mirabel. Perhaps you assigned her a Role you don’t want her to have any longer. Or maybe the same is true for the veteran Villagers.

In any case, Disney Dreamlight Valley now gives you the ability to change the Roles of any Villager. However, you cannot just do it by talking to them like you did when assigning them the Roles. You must craft a Training Manual. Not just any manual though. There are different crafting recipes for each Role.

Once you do craft the Training Manual, gift it to the Villager in question to change their Role.

There is another requirement: the Villager must be at Friendship Level 10 for their Role to change.

In the table below, we will present each of the Training Manuals and what you need to craft them:

Training Manual – Role Materials
Digging Training Manual 5,000 Dreamlight | x20 Pebbles | x20 Sand | x30 Soil
Fishing Training Manual 5,000 Dreamlight | x2 Swordfish | x5 Bream | x10 Herring
Foraging Training Manual 5,000 Dreamlight | x30 Banana | x20 Blueberry | x10 Basil
Gardening Training Manual 5,000 Dreamlight | x40 Corn | x60 Tomato | x20 Carrot
Mining Training Manual 5,000 Dreamlight | x2 Topaz | x2 Aquamarine | x2 Peridot

As you can see, you will need plenty of Dreamlight available. You might even have most of the materials in your inventory. Otherwise, you can set out to gather the materials or even use your Villager companions to help you out.

Either way, you will be one step closer to gaining the chance to change Villager Roles in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PC, PS5 and PS4 consoles, Xbox One and Series consoles, and Nintendo Switch.
