If you want to get more experience in the early game, you better find out how to complete the Carved in Stone quest in Final Fantasy 16. This quest will allow you to explore the game world a bit more and meet new characters. It is not a highly complex quest, so it shouldn’t take too long if you know the correct steps. Carved in Stone will not ask you to perform well in Final Fantasy 16‘s gateway drug combat, but rather that you have a good memory.

In Final Fantasy 16, the side quest Carved in Stone takes place in Tabor. You can start this mission while immersed in Cloak and Dagger’s main quest. It is an easy and quick mission; you don’t need to go anywhere else.

To properly start the Carved in Stone mission, you must go to one of the rooftops of Tabor and look for an antique dealer named Milos. This character will ask you to help discover three phrases carved on stone pillars scattered around the city.

Head to the second floor of Tabor and closely examine the city’s surroundings from there. You’ll see three lookout structures, each with a stone pillar at its base. The trick is to pass by each one, stop and read the poems carved on them, making sure to remember them. Milos will later ask you about these poems.

Once you have memorized all the inscriptions on the stone pillars, return to Milos. He will ask you simple questions about each of the poems. You should pay attention, as the game offers you choices that might prove to be a bit tricky. Don’t worry if you make a mistake; there’ll be a second chance to get it right.
