There are four different trials that you have to figure out how to complete in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, including the Stasis Trial. The Stasis Trial is the third of four you will complete before obtaining the paraglider from the Old Man. The Stasis Trial takes place in the Owa Daim Shrine, near the Temple of Time. First, make your way over to the Owa Daim Shrine.

As you enter, much like in the other Shrines, you will see a pedestal for you to place your Sheikah Slate in order to learn Stasis.

Once you are done, you will receive a message stating that you learned Stasis, which can be used in order to slow down or stop objects from moving.

As you inspect the location further, you will find a large gear to the left of you, next to a rotating platform on the ground that seems to be your only way to the other side. Cast Stasis on the gear while the platform is sitting in a flat position and run over the platform before it is too late.

You should hear a ticking sort of noise after you have casted Stasis. This is a countdown until the object begins to move again, so it is best to be quick.

Carry on to the next area of the Shrine. You will approach a long bridge with a large boulder barreling toward you. Quickly cast Stasis on the boulder and make your way down the bridge and past it.

As you head into the next area, you will see an Iron Sledgehammer leaned up against the wall. Collect and equip the sledgehammer, as you will need it for the next portion of the Trial.

Now, head down the next bridge, where another large boulder is blocking your path. Luckily for you, this one is not moving. However, you will need to make it move in order to move forward.

The best way to do this is to use Stasis on the boulder, then while the boulder is still frozen, use the Y button to attack it with your new Iron Sledgehammer. With a hard enough smack, it will knock the boulder out of your way, and you will be able to move past the bridge.

Once you make it across the bridge, you will be able to speak to Owa Daim, the monk of the Shrine who put the Trial in place with you.

Owa Daim will congratulate you on your completion of the trial and award you a Spirit Orb.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
