Survival sometimes means keeping your distance in Nightingale, but that doesn’t mean staying out of the fight. Knowing how to craft Slingbow ammo in Nightingale can be a deadly asset instead of traditional arrows for players once they’ve crafted a sufficient supply. It can make all the difference when gathering meat and leather for your next adventure!

If you already have crafted the Slingbow at your Simple Workbench, you will need to craft Marbles as ammo in Nightingale. The basic Slingbow ammo is Rock Marbles, where you can craft a bundle of 20 for 6 Rocks at the Workbench.

Once you’ve made these, equip your Slingbow and hold the Reload key (R) to open the ammo radial menu select your ammo, then tap R to load it. You’ll need to load a new Marble after each shot.

If you don’t already have a Slingbow, you can speak to the Essence Trader in your area to buy one. The Slingbow is incredibly cheap to produce, costing 1 Wood Bundle and 2 Straps to build, however, so you won’t be without one for long.

Are There Arrows in Nightingale?

While this is a developing story, there don’t appear to be any traditional bows or arrows in Nightingale. Instead, the Slingbow and later guns have a nicely varied ammo system. Even the Marble ammo includes Ball Bearings, as well as lightning, ice, fire, and poison damage modifiers once you can craft them.

When Should You Use the Slingbow in Nightingale?

These are excellent weapons for any occasion, but you’ll find they’re great for fast-moving targets that are difficult to approach without being punished. For instance, a Simple Slingbow can deal an impressive 90 damage on one hit to Monarch Locusts, large bugs in the desert biome that resist regular attacks. However, if you score a critical such as with a nicely-timed hit to the head, you can score about 120 damage.

This is significant as even attacks that normally bypass tough defenses like on the Monarch Locust do maybe ~30-40 damage. A Slingbow, by contrast, has a chance to one-shot these enemies without risking close-quarters combat in Nightingale, and ammo is plentiful. There’s no reason not to have this in your arsenal while starting.
