Before you can worry about this new resource, you must first build the Ancestral Forge. The structure is another addition, thanks to the recent update, and you’ll get it once you defeat Raziel the Shepherd.

Once you’ve unlocked the Ancestral Forge, we can now focus on the new material. If you want to craft Onyx Tears in V Rising, you’ll have to first unlock access to the recipe. It is unlocked once you defeat the high-level Level 79 V Blood boss Nightmarshal Styx the Sunderer.

Below, we detail the recipe for the resource:

  • x1 Blood Merlot
    • Drain blood from prisoners | x60 Sacred Grapes + x1 Empty Glass Bottle
  • x3 Dark Silver Ingot
    • Furnace:ย x3 Spectral Dust + x20 Silver Ore
  • x3 Gold Ingot
    • Furnace:ย x8 Sulphur + x8 Gold Jewelry
  • x3 Power Core
    • Fabricator:ย x4 Charged Battery + x8 Radium Alloy

You will make all of this at the Anvil. Note that the above recipe and resources yield youย one Onyx Tear. It is why getting the amount of Onyx Tears you need for Legendary Weapons can take a lot of grinding and time.

How To Use Onyx Tears in V Rising

Onyx Tears are one of the materials used to craft Legendary Weapons. When you defeat bosses that are ranked Level 75 or higher, they will drop shattered versions of Legendary Weapons. You can take these weapons to the Ancestral Forge to repair them.

The exact recipe for each Legendary Weapon varies. Below are the basics of what you need to repair Legendary Weapons in the Forge:

  • x3 Onyx Tears
  • x1 Primal Blood Essence
  • A weapon that matches the Legendary one you want to fix

Legendary Weapons are potent to use in battle, much more than most of the other weapons in the game. So, it makes it worth your time to track down everything you need to craft Onyx Tears in V Rising.
