A fitting end.

  • Remnant 2: Lydusa Boss Fight Guide
  • Second Phase

If you’ve reached the end of Remnant 2: The Forgotten Kingdom, you’ll face Lydusa, the expansion’s final boss. While her story is tragic and something we won’t spoil here, you have to put an end to her machinations to escape this dangerous area of Yashna. This encounter combines many traversal mechanics, fast-paced moves, and other things to keep even the most experienced Travelers at the edge of their seats. But if you manage to beat this goddess, you’re in for some of the game’s best rewards.

Remnant 2: Lydusa Boss Fight Guide

After finishing the DLC’s quest and returning to The Bloodless Throne in Remnant 2, it’ll be time to face Lydusa in a boss fight. While one would think she’d be happy after obtaining her “precious thing,” she goes berserk and wants to kill you and your group. Thankfully, this fight has only two phases that, while short, can be extremely hectic. Here’s how to beat her.

First Phase

This phase has several mechanics that tend to overlap with each other, making this fight a cluster of flying orbs, explosions, and more. Here are the most notable moves Lydusa performs during the encounter:

  • Projectiles and Quake: Lydusa will launch several orbs at the arena to create circular markers on the ground. After a few seconds, they will explode.

  • Orbs of Light: The boss will spawn five orbs, with one being golden. All orbs will shoot at the player and remain floating for a while. Destroying the golden orb will make the other four explode.

  • Ground Slam and Flying Saw: After lowering Lydusa’s health a bit, she’ll break her mask, show a blue face, and make some new moves. You need to watch out for two: a ground slam, similar to the ones flying enemies do in the overworld, and a flying saw that spawns under Lydusa’s head and chases a player two or three times. You can dodge both of them easily with the right timing. However, she’ll combine these moves with the previous ones simultaneously.

She’ll stick to all these moves for a long time but combine them more aggressively. There was a time when we saw all move together in the arena, and it was extremely overwhelming. If you manage to evade everything, prepare for the second and final phase.

Second Phase

The second phase of the Lydusa boss fight in Remnant 2 begins once she raises the walls of the arena, trapping you in the middle. In this phase, you must avoid the walls that charge at you by destroying the ones with a face while also crouching to avoid other obstacles being thrown at you.

This one isn’t too hard, but it can overwhelm you, especially if you don’t have a weapon with a fast firing speed or good damage output. I brought an assault rifle, and it did the trick. Furthermore, bringing a friend will make the fight much easier. After evading enough walls, the walls will start to shake, and a DPS check will start. You must defeat Lydusa as fast as possible, or the walls will close in, killing you.

Oddly enough, we felt this fight was too chaotic but not as challenging as the other two mini-bosses of the DLC. However, the reward is one of the best in the game. Lydusa’s material unlocks a boss weapon that shoots a laser beam that can defeat enemies in a matter of seconds. Also, it has a lot of ammo, so you can easily breeze through any area while holding this new gun. So, if you’ve reached the end, send this former Goddess off with a bang and show off your new weapons to all your friends at Ward 13.
