First, it is worth noting that Marbled Gohma is the weakest among all Temple bosses. And it’s not surprising, given that this is the first Temple boss you can fight shortly after starting your adventure. Marbled Gohma is relatively slow, has only a few attacks in his arsenal, and his weaknesses are too large to miss.

However, the attacks of this Marbled Gohma are dangerous for a beginner, and unknowing the basic information about the boss can lead to premature death. In addition, Marbled Gohma has two phases of combat, during which you will confront him on the floor and the ceiling. So next, we will tell you about the combat strategy during each phase.

First Phase

As with any boss fight, your encounter the boos with an introductory cut scene. Marbled Gohma will open his eye (hint of weakness) and jump down from the ceiling. Next, a battle begins in which the boss aims at you with one of his legs. This attack is relatively problematic to dodge, but you can try to run to the side. After that, the battle becomes more same-type, so here’s what you need to know to beat the first fight phase:

  • During the first phase, the boss will sometimes fall to the ground to deal damage in a radius, and you must run away to avoid taking damage. It also sometimes attacks with its legs, but this happens if you run around in a circle and do not attack. The main boss attack during this stage is round stone bombs that explode if you get too close.
  • You can easily dodge all attacks except bombs. In the case of the bombs, you must either stay away from them or use the Yunobo to defuse the bombs from afar.
  • As we said earlier, the Marbled Gohma’s weak point is his eye, so shoot him with your bow while you dodge his attacks. But also, you must use the Yunobo to destroy the boss’ legs with it. After breaking two legs, the boss will fall, and you can climb on his head to deal a lot of damage by attacking his eye.
  • If you’re fast and agile enough, you can complete the first phase in 2-3 trips to the boss’s head.

Second Phase

The second fight phase is harder than the previous one, but the boss’s attacks are less varied. All he does is throw a lot of rock bombs around you. Use the Yunobo to break through the rows of bombs and continue attacking the boss’s eye. Here’s what you need to know to complete the second phase and defeat the boss:

  • First, damage from a bow shot to the boss’s eye is relatively low, so you must fall Marbled Gohma down to the floor. The room walls are oval, so you only need to use the Yunobo to shoot it into the wall. Your friend will roll to the ceiling on the oval wall and break the boss’s stability. 1-2 shots – the boss is on the floor.

  • Be aware that while the Yunobo is flying to the boss, you may be trapped between explosive stones and unable to escape. So watch the timing and use Yunobo immediately after the boss attacks.
  • When the boss falls to the floor, you must get on Marbled Gohma’s head and attack his eye. Two or three attacks on his head will be more than enough to defeat Marbled Gohma.

Once Marbled Gohma dies, you will watch a short cut-scene and receive rewards for winning. First, you will get one permanent HP heart. But more importantly, you will permanently unlock Yunobo as a companion during your travels.
