So, the first thing to do is to check the integrity of the game files because, as we mentioned above, this is usually the main problem. Here’s how to do it:

  • Launch Steam and go to Library.
  • Among the list of games, find Ark Survival Ascended and right-click on it to go to the Properties tab.
  • When you do this, you will see a menu in which you need to find the Local Files tab.
  • In the Local Files tab, find and click the Verify Integrity of Game Cache option.
  • Wait for the check to complete and launch the game.

If the error continues to occur after launching the game, try the next method.

Graphics Card and Optimization Issues

Another common issue is problems with the video card and its optimization. First, pay attention to whether your graphic card is updated, and if not, then update it and launch the game to see if the problem disappears. If you own Nvidia GeForce, then in most cases, it’s an optimization issue, so here’s what you need to do to get everything working properly:

  • Go to the Start Menu, or press the Win button to open the search.
  • In the text field, enter GeForce experience, and then launch the program.
  • Click on the gear icon to go to the settings.
  • Click the Games tab on the left.
  • Here, find the “Automatically optimize newly added games” option and uncheck the box.
  • Save your changes and launch the game to see if it worked.

If the error continues to occur, you can use the next method.

Manual Solution of the Problem

If none of the above options helped you solve this problem, then the last thing to do is to fix it yourself by working with the game files a little bit. Here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Go to the following directory: “\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal\TheIsland_WP”
  • Here you can see the following files:
    • 1399980138.arktribe
    • 1399980138.tribebak
    • LocalPlayer.arkprofile
    • LocalPlayer.profilebak
    • TheIsland_WP.ark
    • TheIsland_WP_30.10.2023_04.12.38.ark
    • TheIsland_WP_AntiCorruptionBackup.bak
  • Create a new folder and move the next files to it:
    • 1399980138.arktribe
    • LocalPlayer.arkprofile
    • TheIsland_WP.ark
  • After doing this, go to the “TheIsland_WP” directory and rename the following files as shown below:
    • TheIsland_WP_AntiCorruptionBackup.bak –> TheIsland_WP.ark
    • LocalPlayer.profilebak –> LocalPlayer.arkprofile
    • 1399980138.tribebak –> 1399980138.arktribe
  • After doing this, launch the game to check if the error has disappeared.

In most cases, after manual intervention, this problem disappears. But pay attention, that you may partially lose game progress. If none of these methods help you, then contact the support team, who may be able to help you solve the issue.
