Not enough customers in Cities: Skylines 2 issue arises for many reasons. Some common reasons are imbalances in commercial and residential areas and lack of access to commercial zones. Below are some solutions you can get to resolve not enough customers in Cities: Skylines 2

  1. Dezone some of the commercial areas.
  2. Place commercial zone gradually relative to the population growth.
  3. Build enough roads and publish transportation systems from residential areas to commercial zones.

Dezoning Some of the Commercial Areas

This is one of the first things most players do; it is usually adequate. When you do zoning previously, sometimes you might not have considered some factors for the commercial zones to be successful. You must check for your city’s road network, education level, and public transportation. So, if you do not have enough customers in Cities: Skylines 2, the first and easiest thing you can do is dezone the areas with the issue and reallocate those free spaces for another purpose.

Placing  Commercial Zones Gradually

If there are too many commercial areas and insufficient population to support them, it will lead to a lack of customers. So, one of the other ways to avoid this problem is by gradually planning the placement of commercial zones. This way, you can ensure enough population to support the stores and businesses in those areas.

You can use the zoning tool and select the commercial zone there. It will indicate the most suitable place for the commercial zones. Choose the green areas highlighted by the tool and the red areas unsuitable for placement. This will also help you avoid the zoning mistakes that could result in insufficient customers in Cities: Skylines 2.

Building Enough Roads and Transportation Systems

If your commercial zones lack customer access, it’s time to invest in building new roads and improving the existing transportation systems. You might able to visually identify this issue if you notice a lot of traffic in the commercial area or less traffic from residential areas to the commercial zone. You might need to change the old roads and public transportation systems you initially built and increase the facilities.

These are the main ways to fix not enough customers in Cities: Skylines 2. However, not having enough workers or educated workers might also be interconnected with this problem. The video below from City Planner Plays will help you if you encounter those issues.
