Bearings are an early-game mechanical part in My Time at Sandrock that you will need for certain builds. You can find Bearings in My Time at Sandrock early in the game, but you must use a machine. These are used in one of the first major building commissions, the Crane Lift, which requires four Bearings in addition to a few other parts. Bearings are a fundamental part of several early-game builds, so you will want a steady supply of them, which we can help you with.

Bearings in My Time at Sandrock is a Recycler resource. What that means is that you acquire them by funneling scrap and fuel into the Recycler, which you build as an early game tutorial. Bearings, in particular, can be found in Mechanical Scrap piles, which has a high chance of being created.

Mechanical Scrap can be found in two ways. The first is finding a mechanical scrap pile in the desert surrounding Sandrock. This particular pile has gears and other metal parts sticking out. The second place to find Mechanical Scrap is in the Mixed Junk Piles that are found in the backlot of Eufaula Salvage. These massive Junk Piles contain many scrap piles, including Mechanical Scrap Piles. While these Junk Piles give Mechanical Scrap pretty consistently, it doesn’t appear to be guaranteed, so you might have to come back the following day when the Mixed Junk Piles respawn.

Once you have Mechanical Scrap, take it to your Recycler and add it along with some fuel. Dregs is a fuel resource also found in Scrap Piles, so you should have some at this point. It takes 10 minutes of real-time to process Scrap Piles, but you can queue up a stack of 10. Set the Mechanical Scrap and come back later to collect your Bearings and other resources.

Here is a brief rundown on how to acquire this precious resource.

  1. Gather Mechanical Scrap

Mechanical Scrap can be found in Mechanical Scrap piles and Mixed Junk Piles.

  2. Place into Recycler

You can add a stack of 10 of the same kind of scrap; remember to add fuel.

  3. Wait

It takes 10 minutes in real time to process scrap in the Recycler.

My Time at Sandrock is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
