Flour is a common crafting component for cooking recipes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You must craft it at a kitchen and have Wheat in your inventory. Pick up the recipe for crafting Flour, and you can craft it whenever you want. Wheat is difficult to obtain and can take some luck before you get a constant supply. Here’s how to get Flour in Animal Crossing: New Horizons to start cooking quickly.

To craft Flour, you must have the Be a Chef! DIY Recipes+ package from the Nook Stop Terminal. This gives you the Flour recipe, which needs five fully-grown Wheat stalks to craft. Getting Wheat isn’t easy as there are only two sources, which can take time to provide the ingredients you need.

The first method of obtaining Wheat is purchasing it from Leif, either at Harvey’s co-op or whenever he visits your island. Leif periodically sells Wheat starts that you must grow from scratch over four days. You must water the Wheat starts frequently to obtain a yield high enough to start creating Flour. Like Pumpkins, Leif doesn’t always stock Wheat; check back frequently and buy as many starts as possible.

The second method involves Kapp’n’s Mystery Boat Tours. There’s a chance that the Mystery Island you visit through Kapp’n has fully grown Wheat on the island. You can only visit one island a day, and it’s not guaranteed that the island will have Wheat. But if you are lucky, there can be enough Wheat on the island to start crafting Flour immediately.

Once you obtain wheat, it’s not difficult to start crafting Flour in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Craft a kitchen and start converting your wheat into Flour. That Flour can be used for future cooking recipes or traded to others who don’t have Flour.
