For gamers who grew up watching Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, the release of Grounded is a dream come true. This exceptional survival game takes place in an everyday location: the backyard. Helping your miniaturized character survive mosquitos, spiders, and other deadly creatures is no easy task. Just because it’s not a horror game doesn’t mean survival is guaranteed. You’ll need to use every resource at your disposal, from acorns to droplets of spilled juice. Fluffy Dandelion Tufts are basic resources, but it’s not immediately obvious how you can get your hands on them. Here’s how to get Fluffy Dandelion Tufts in Grounded.

Like Gnat Fuzz, you’ll need to get Fluffy Dandelion Tufts early in your journey through Grounded. Though the setting and premise may be unique, this game follows the same pattern of other survival crafting games. Some resources are used for crafting, while others have unique functions. The Fluffy Dandelion Tuft falls into the latter category. You won’t be using it in any crafting recipes. Instead, you use them as makeshift gliders, allowing you to leap from great heights without taking lethal damage.

The first step in getting a Dandelion Tuft is locating it. You can find dandelions throughout the backyard, but the Tufts themselves are difficult to locate if you’re keeping your eyes on the ground. If you want to get a Dandelion Tuft in Grounded, turn your gaze skyward and look for the signature white puffs at the end of the stalks. Once you’ve spotted one, make your way over to the stalk. You’ll need to cut the stalk down using a Pebblet Axe or Insect Axe if you want the Tuft to drop.

Once you finish chopping the dandelion stalk down, the Fluffy Dandelion Tuft will fall, allowing you to pick it up off the ground. Once it’s in your inventory, you’ll be able to use it. Simply equip the Tuft and then jump off any high point, and the Tuft will automatically deploy to slow your descent to the ground. In Grounded, using a Fluffy Dandelion Tuft causes it to decay and eventually disappear. If you’re falling a long distance, it may even disappear before you reach the ground. From certain heights that might mean a lethal fall even with this item. Keep that in mind when deciding where to build your next base.

Grounded is available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
