Gouging Fire is a Paradox Pokemon, which is an ancient form of the Legendary Pokemon Entei and is only available in the Pokemon Scarlet version. If you own this particular edition, you can catch it, but if you play Pokemon Violet, the only method is to trade it. Down below, you’ll learn all the details on how to get Gouging Fire in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk. Similar to catching Iron Boulder, you’ll need to talk to Perrin to get the coordinates and a photo of this Pokemon, so now we’ll explain all the steps you need to take in more detail.

To get the Gouging Fire location, you will need to talk to Perrin. But don’t rush because first, you’ll need to complete this character’s quest, which is to meet Bloodmoon Ursaluna in Kitakami. It’s not a difficult task, and it won’t take you long.

If you have already completed this quest, you can talk to Perrin in Savanna Rest Area 1. It’s worth noting that there is one more requirement you have to fulfill before you can do this. You must have at least 200 Pokemon registered in your Blueberry Pokedex. If you don’t have this, just take a walk around the Terarium to catch some new Pokemon. When all the conditions are finally met, and after talking to Perrin, you will find out that Gouging Fire is located in Area Zero, near the waterfall. Also, Perrin will give you some photos to help you navigate your way around.

So now that you have the information about the location of Gouging Fire, you can go looking for it. To prevent you from getting lost in Area Zero, here is a step-by-step guide to finding this Pokemon:

  • Use the teleporter to get to Research Station 3.
  • Exit Research Station 3 and look around to see the entrance to the cave.
  • Look up the mountain, and you’ll see a waterfall that you need to get to the top of.
  • To do this, use the Koraidon or Miraidon you received after completing the BB League Elite Four challenge.
  • When you arrive at the top of the waterfall, you’ll notice a Gouging Fire standing next to the broken radar.

Then, the last thing to do is to catch it.

Gouging Fire, like other legendary Pokemon, is level 75, which means that it is not easy to catch. Don’t worry if you don’t have Master Balls because you can deal with this Pokemon using other options, such as Ultra and Timer Balls.

The main tactic for catching this Pokemon is to damage it as much as possible, preferably to one HP, and then inflict debuffs to increase your chances of success. So, here’s what we recommend you to do:

  • Deal a few hits to cause damage, and then decrease the enemy’s HP to 1 with a False Swipe.
  • Wait for Gouging Fire to attack, then cast a debuff like Hypnosis or Stun Spore on it.
  • When it does, use Ultra and Timer Balls to catch the Pokemon.

It may take a few Pokeballs, but you should be able to catch it.
